Perry took 14th in the long jump at 19-7.Zach Baumgartner picked up a medal for the Swather boys, taking fourth at 6-4.Hesston finished the first day tied for eighth place with nine points. Paola leads the field with 55 points, followed by Royal Valley with 28 and Wamego with 12.For the Hesston girls, Dominique Chew picked up the seventh-place medal in the shot put, finishing at 36-10 3/4.The Swather girls have one point, tied for 20th. Girard leads and Kansas City Sumner Academy lead the field with 18 points each. There is a four-way tie for third with 10 points.Mollie Nebel qualified fourth in the 400-meter dash preliminaries in 59.91.The team of Jamison Unruh, Kyle Perry, Lucas Petrocci and Mack Richtig placed 10th in the 4x100-meter relay in 44.38, missing the finals by .28 seconds.
