Rodney Kasitz, a 1975 graduate of Newton High School, was awarded a Technology Students Association Advisor of the Year Award during the state competition in April in Salina.


Rodney Kasitz, a 1975 graduate of Newton High School, was awarded a Technology Students Association Advisor of the Year Award during the state competition in April in Salina.
Kasitz is the industrial arts teacher and TSA adviser at Louisburg High School.
During the past 25 years out of 30, Kasitz has had students compete in the national TSA competition.
Kasitz is the son of William “Bill” and Linda Kasitz.
Their grandson, Kaleb Kasitz, is one of three team members who took first in electronic game design during the state competition. They were to advance to nationals.
Another Kasitz — Curtis Kasitz — was on the winning team that took first in system control technologies and electronic gaming. Kasitz paired with Dylan Ming to win in techno talk.
