• I think the government should help with day care. If you take a job making minimum wage at $7.25 an hour, times eight hours a day, five days a week is $290 a week. Now take taxes out of that and, if you have an infant, minus $150 a week for child care and what does that leave you left to pay bills, groceries, etc.?

• No, I don’t feel the government should subsidize child care. Unfortunately, with the economy set the way it is, the government needs to be downsizing, not creating more programs to spend more money. That money comes from tax dollars. In order to have more programs, to spend money they would have to raise taxes and those people who would have to be subsidized for child care would be hollering because their taxes were raised.

• Boy, I love garage sales, but I hate the people who leave their signs up forever. Maybe the city ought to institute a fine for people who leave their signs up at least a day after the sale.

• If I had a blank check, I would disassemble bolt by bolt the VFW Post 971 and move it to a city that appreciates veterans.
