First Presbyterian Church

Sunday
• The youth of First Presbyterian Church and their sponsors will leave after the worship service for a week-long work trip to Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, N.M. Fourteen youth and five adult sponsors will make the trip.
The church will provide a nursery for all morning services. It will have Sunday school classes for all ages from 9:15 to 10:10 a.m. Sunday. Fellowship time will be from 10:10 to 10:30 a.m. in the narthex.
At the 10:30 worship service in the sanctuary, Pastor Jim Anderson will deliver the sermon.

Wednesday
• S.C.O.T.S. will meet at noon Wednesday at Wendy’s for lunch, then the group will return to the church to work on sewing projects from 1 to 4 p.m.
• A rehearsal will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church for the community choir patriotic choral program, which will be presented on June 27 at the church.

Thursday
• The Presbyterian Women coordinating council will meet at 9:15 a.m. Thursday at the church.

St. Luke
Presbyterian

June 6
• St. Luke Presbyterian Church at 808 E. Sixth St. in Newton is inviting the public to a free carnival from 3 to 6 p.m. June 6 at Roosevelt Park, one block  west of the church.
The carnival will include a dunk tank, bounce house, cake walk, soda ring toss, balloon darts, fishing pond, duck pond, milk bottle throw, bean bag toss, musical chairs, face painting and balloon animals.
New this year will be 2-by-4 board racing.
There also will be free hot dogs, popcorn and snowcones.

First United Methodist Church

Saturday
• The public is invited to have coffee with United Methodist Bishop Nhiwatiwa of Zimbabwe and hear how God is working in his country during an event from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday in fellowship hall at the church, 801 N. Main St. in Newton.
Wednesday
• First United Methodist Women will meet at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church, 801 Main St. in Newton. Jeanenne Alumbaugh will talk about Weekday Bible School. The hostess will be Deborah Circle.

Walton United Methodist

Thursday
• Walton United Methodist Women will meet at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the church. The program will be by Linda Eden. Hostess will be Carolyn Rowland.
