Most Kansas House members are running for re-election this year.
Ninety-seven of the House's 125 members have filed the necessary paperwork with the secretary of state's office to guarantee themselves a spot on the Aug. 3 primary ballot.
The latest to file this week were Republicans Lance Kinzer of Olathe and Joe Patton of Topeka. Kinzer is chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.
The filing deadline is noon June 10.
So far, 63 of the 76 Republicans in the House have beat the deadline. Thirty-four of the 49 Democrats have filed.
All 40 Kansas Senate seats are on the ballot in presidential election years.
