Hillsboro golfer Daniel Kunantaev claimed a state championship Monday in the Class 3A state tournament at the Smoky Hill Country Club in Hays.



Hillsboro golfer Daniel Kunantaev claimed a state championship Monday in the Class 3A state tournament at the Smoky Hill Country Club in Hays.
Kunantaev shot a four-over par 71 to claim top medalist honors. He won the title by one stroke.
Wichita Collegiate won the team title at 322, followed by Kansas City Christian in second and Lakin in third.
Halstead was sixth at 366, followed by Hillsboro in seventh at 367.
Halstead was led by Joey Krueger, who tied for 14th at 85. Brandon Gamanche tied for 18th.
