TULSA, Okla. — The Kansas Cougars ended the season by winning the Central Football League title over the Enid Enforcers 27-3 Saturday in the league championship game at S.E. Williams Stadium in Tulsa.
It was the first league title for the Cougars, which play home games at Fischer Field in Newton. It was the second win for the Cougars this season over Enid.
Stats and scoring information were not reported.
Kansas finished the season 8-1.
HALSTEAD — The Halstead High School boys’ basketball team is hosting a basketball camp for boys entering grades one through eight.
The camp for grades one through five is 8 to 10 a.m. June 1 through 4.
The camp for grades six through eight is 8 to 10 a.m. June 7 through 11.

game to St. Paul
WICHITA — A four-run third inning lifted the St. Paul Saints to a 7-4 win over the Wichita Wingnuts Monday in American Association play at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.
Ole Sheldon put the Saints up 3-0 with a three-run home run in the third inning. An error led to another run in the inning.
Josh Horn struck back for Wichita with an RBI double in the bottom of the third, scoring on an error.
In the fourth inning, Sheldon doubled and scored on a Jason Cooper single. Gerard Haran singled Cooper home.
Sheldon added his fourth RBI on a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning. Wichita struck back with a two-run Mario Delgado home run.
Wichita’s Adam Cowart took the loss, allowing five earned runs in 3 2-3 innings with three strikeouts and a walk. Todd Mathison earned his first win of the season, allowing one earned run in seven inninngs with two walks and three strikeouts.
Hunter Davis pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for the Saints for his third save of the season.
St. Paul improves to 5-5 while Wichita falls to 4-6. Wichita plays today at Lincoln.
PITCHER HONORED — Wingnut pitcher Nick Singleton was named the American Association pitcher of the week. In 11 2-3 innings, spanning two games, Singleton finished 2-0. He had 11 hits, three walks and five strikeouts.
