A Sedgwick man arrested Monday on child pornography charges has been formally charged with eight counts of sexual exploitation of a child.


A Sedgwick man arrested Monday on child pornography charges has been formally charged with eight counts of sexual exploitation of a child.

Robert L. Stevens Sr., 46, of Sedgwick is being held at the Harvey County Detention Center on $100,000 bond.

On Monday, the Harvey County Sheriff’s Department, along with the Newton Police Department and Sedgwick Police Department, served a search warrant at 101 N. Commercial St. in Sedgwick.

The search warrant was served under the OSCAR Task force. OSCAR stands for on-line sex crime apprehend and remove.

OSCAR is a part of the Internet crimes against children program.

The OSCAR task force is made up of law enforcement officers of the Harvey County Sheriff’s Department, Newton Police Department, North Newton Police Department, Hesston Police Department and Harvey County Attorney’s Office.

Information had been developed that child pornography was being viewed at 101 N. Commercial St.

The search warrant was served at 5:30 p.m. and completed at 10 p.m.

The results of the search warrant and interviews lead to the arrest Stevens, an occupant of the residence.
