Award-winning author B.D. Tharp will talk about writing and her latest book, “Feisty Family Values,” at 7 p.m. on Monday at Newton Public Library, 720 North Oak.
“Feisty Family Values” is set in the once-opulent Riverside neighborhood of Wichita. The novel follows the lives, loves and crises of three women of “a certain age,” widow Regina, her close friend and housemate Tillie, and Regina’s frumpy cousin Annabelle.
A lifetime resident of Kansas, B.D. Tharp worked days and attended Wichita State University nights, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor of arts degree in communications, women/minority studies and fine arts. Tharp began a freelance copy writing and editing company in 2004, now called Scribble LLC. The author has many publishing credits and awards to her name. She is working on a sequel to “Feisty Family Values,” titled “Patchwork Family,” which also won the KWA award for first pages of a novel.
A book signing will follow the author talk.
This event is free and open to the public.
