The Bethel College women’s basketball team claimed a regular-season sweep over rival Tabor College, edging the Bluejays 66-63 Thursday at Thresher Gym.
The win was Bethel’s third straight. Bethel improved to 11-8, 7-4 in KCAC play. Bethel moves into sole possession of fourth place in the conference with eight games remaining. Bethel is three games behind leader Sterling, which was upset by Bethany.
Tabor led 39-29 at the half, outshooting the Threshers 60 percent from the field to 34.5 percent. Bethel shot 44.4 percent in the second half while Tabor fell to 35.7 percent. Bethel also took advantage of 26 Tabor turnovers, while committing just 10.
Bethel was led by Rachael Bachman with 21 points. Angela Wood scored 16 and Hannah Blackburn scored 12 points with eight rebounds.
Tabor was led by Tynan Honn with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Sarah Wyckoff scored 14 points. Vivian Olvera scored 13.
Tabor falls to 4-17, 3-8 in KCAC play. Tabor plays at 5 p.m. Saturday at McPherson.
Bethel plays Saturday at Bethany.
