The mid-season misery continues for the Bethel College men’s basketball team, falling to rival Tabor College 77-42 Thursday in KCAC play at Thresher Gym.
The loss is Bethel’s eighth straight, falling to 5-15, 3-8 in KCAC play. The Threshers have gone from first place to last place in the conference during the losing streak.
Tabor snaps a five-game losing streak, improving to 7-13, 4-7 in KCAC play. Tabor moves into a three-way tie for sixth place in the conference, just two games out of third place.
Bethel and Tabor split the regular-season series with the visiting team winning each game.
The Bluejays took control of the game early, leading 32-19 at the half. Bethel shot just 31.8 percent for the game, 28.6 percent in the second half.
Damon Dechant led Tabor with 13 points, followed by Michael Janzen with 10.
Shawn Sullivan led Bethel with 10 points, coming off the bench.
Tabor plays at 7 p.m. Saturday at McPherson. Bethel plays at 7 p.m. Saturday at Bethany.
