The Harvey County 4-H shooting sports kids have been busy practicing for competition since last October.

They competed Saturday at the Sedgwick County Invitational. The following are the results.

They competed Saturday at the Sedgwick County Invitational. The following are the results.

BB gun results Wade Nye, Walton 4-H Club and son of Angela and Ryan Nye, placed fourth in 7 and 8 year olds with a score of 205 out of 400 and is a first-time competitor.

Raymond Camacho, Lucky 13 and son of Manuel and Andrea Camacho, placed third in 7- and 8-year-olds with a score of 257.

Celeste Storey, Sedgwick and daughter of Candy and Andy Storey, placed fifth in the 9 and 10 year olds with a score of 320.

First-time shooters Clay Nye, Walton 4-H Club and son of Angela and Ryan Nye, scored a 301, and Seth Stucky, East Lakers 4-H club and son of Robyn and Doug Stucky of Newton, scored a 265 in the 9- and 10-year-old division.

Gabrielle Camacho, Lucky 13 and daughter of Andrea and Manuel Camacho, placed fourth in the 11 and 12 year olds with a score of 354.

Joshua Stucky, East Lakers 4-H Club and son of Robyn and Doug Stucky, first time-shooter, scored a 320.

Also, 4-H members who shot a 275 or better in BB and are 4-H age 9 or older qualify for the state match in April.

Air Pistol Results Hunter Lanier, Lucky 13 and son of Gail and Gary Lanier, placed second in the junior (younger than 14) sporter air pistol class with a score of 134, out of a possible score of 200.

Tempest Storey, Sedgwick 4-H Club and daughter of Candy and Andy Storey, scored a 74 in the Senior sporter class. This was the first competition either had shot air pistol. Air pistol shooters must shoot a 100 or better to qualify for the state match.

Coaches who have been working with the 4-H members are Gary and Gail Lanier, Manuel Comacho, Kevin Duerkson and Larry Church.
