Question: It’s open forum week. What’s on your mind?

• In reference to the question “Is Homeland Security doing enough to protect U.S. industries,” the answer is no. You have got to be kidding me. If we were serious about this, we would put a stop to this one-way ticket from a foreign country on a individual that’s connected to the terrorist. Unless the United States gets serious about this and clamps down and quits worrying about a lawsuit, our country is going to be overrun by terrorists. Read the paper folks. We have got to get serious about this and put pressure on elected officials. Quit this tomfoolery and playing games.

• Please remember with the cold weather to keep your pets inside, where it’s out of the cold weather or, if not, keep them in a warm area with food and water.

• Way to go Renee Erickson and Randy Zohn. I already know who I’m voting for come this election. Teachers have had to pay for school supplies out of their pockets for years. Staff members could pay for a few phone calls on their own cell phones. The way cell phones are set up now, it wouldn’t be any money out of their pockets. Fair is fair.

• About the schools: They need to stop building schools and worry about what’s going on inside the buildings. The building does not matter — it’s what’s inside the building that makes a difference.
