Bruce Warren Galle, 61, died Jan. 19, 2010, at his home in Tampa, Fla., after a 15-year battle with cancer.

Born Oct. 6, 1948, in Kansas City, Mo., he was the son of Gilbert and Mourine (Vogt) Galle of Moundridge.

Born Oct. 6, 1948, in Kansas City, Mo., he was the son of Gilbert and Mourine (Vogt) Galle of Moundridge.

Bruce graduated from Moundridge High School in 1966, Hutchinson Community Junior College in 1968 and Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia in 1970 with a bachelorís degree in education.

Bruce served with the U. S. Army from 1970 to 1974 in Army Intelligence. He was a 1972 honor graduate of First Army Non-Commissioned Officer Leadership School at Fort George D. Meade, Md.

In 1985, Bruce graduated with honors from the University of Virginia Colgate-Darden School of Business Executive Education Program in Charlottesville, Va.

Bruce worked in information technology and services with McDonnell-Douglas, United Missouri Bank, Philip Morris, SunTrust Service Corp. and Talbots. He contributed articles to various trade magazines and was a member of the Project Management Institute. He was an executive project manager with IBM for six years before his retirement in 2003.

He married Ethel Ledesma on Sept. 28, 2009, in Tampa.

He leaves behind his wife, Ethel, of the home; son, Christopher Galle; daughter, Christina Ryan; six grandchildren, all of Tampa; brother, Brent Galle, Moundridge; sister, Marcia Gitchell, Topeka; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and stepsons, Nicolas Rodriguez and Martin Rodriguez of Argentina.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Brian; niece, April Galle and nephew, B.J. Galle.

Following cremation in Florida, a memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Moundridge Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be sent to the Hospice organization of your choice.
