Mr. Potato Head is the star of a newly opened exhibit at a Wichita museum.

Called “The Adventures of Mr. Potato Head,” the traveling exhibit opened Saturday at Exploration Place. It’s designed to help young children — about ages 2 to 8 — develop reading, math, social studies.

It was created by Milwaukee’s Betty Brinn Children’s Museum in collaboration with Playskool.

Visitors can accompany Mr. Potato Head on four adventures, including an archaeological dig and journeys to outer space, under the sea and into a jungle.

There’s also a toy potato bar, where visitors can build their own Mr. or Ms. Potato head.

The exhibit will remain at the Wichita museum through May 9.
