• Regarding the call to Voices on Tuesday about the deer.  I am truly sorry the dead deer in my driveway upset your granddaughter. We do try to keep things discreet. We have had up to seven deer (we pick up road kill for the county) for the past 15 years, and this is the first complaint I know of. We cannot have the carcass in the garage as the garage has to be heated so the water doesn’t freeze. The sheet was bloodier than normal. I think it was due to the fact that we dressed the deer out Tuesday evening and it was drizzling and raining most of the time. I think the sheet was wet and let the blood come through more than usual. As for the “dripping buckets of entrails,” I am not sure what you saw. There is a plastic tote half full and the hide is on top. You cannot see the contents from the street — I went and checked. I don’t know what you saw, but it was not entrails — unless you came up my driveway. We hung the deer there Tuesday night. The plan was it would be processed out Thursday and Friday. It had to wait until Saturday. I wanted you to know we do try to be respectful.

• I really do think the city needs to put a heavy fine on liquor. That is one of our biggest debt causes.
