NESS CITY (AP) –– Weather has been blamed for a fatal crash in Ness County in western Kansas.
The Kansas Highway Patrol identified the victim as 18-year-old Joshua Dean Stieben of Bazine.
He was killed when he lost control of his pickup truck on an ice- and snow-packed county road nine miles north of Ness City. He went into a ditch, striking multiple trees. His truck came to rest on the passenger side in the trees.
The patrol says the teen’s body was found Sunday. It’s unknown when the crash happened.
