Goldie LaGree of Newton died Thursday (Dec. 24, 2009) at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis in Wichita. Services are pending with Petersen Funeral Home.

Goldie F. LaGree, 63, died Thursday (Dec. 24, 2009) at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
She was born on Nov. 3, 1946, in Hugoton to Harrison F. and Dorothy H. (Hartsell) Baldwin.
On Dec. 4, 1965, she married Thomas E. LaGree in Newton. He survives of the home.
Goldie retired from Newton Medical Center after 33 years of service in November 2008. She was a surgical care certified nurse’s aid there. Goldie made many friends through her years at Newton Medical Center, including staff and patients. She always offered a caring reassurance to the many patients she cared for through the years.
Goldie was devoted to her family, grandkids and friends. She always was available to offer her help in numerous ways, including offering rides to appointments and lending a caring ear.
She greatly looked forward to spending time fishing with her loving husband of 44 years.
Goldie never met a stranger, and her caring smile and attitude will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas LaGree of Newton; a daughter, Tammy and Joe Foudray of Newton; three brothers, Ben Baldwin of Las Cruces, N.M., Bob Baldwin of Moundridge and Phillip Baldwin of Florence; grandchildren, Janae, Morgan, Megan and Dusty Foudray of Newton; and a sister, Diane Miller of Newton.
She was preceded in death by son Tommy; infant son Ellis Eugene; her parents; and four brothers, Junior Baldwin, Pete Baldwin, Jim Baldwin and Dale Baldwin.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Meridian Baptist Church in Newton with Pastor Jerroll Martens of the church officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Gardens of Memory in Newton.
