A Salina woman who was finally getting around to having some important family pictures developed is asking whoever stole her purse — with camera inside — to at least return the memory card.

Delene Schoof was watching a movie at a local theater Sunday night when someone sat next to her, then left with her purse.

Her camera had the last photos of her son, who was killed in a motorcycle accident in 2007, and the last ones of her mother and grandmother, who also are dead.

She had planned to get the photos made into prints after the movie.

Her purse was found in a dumpster on Monday, but the camera and some credit cards were gone. She canceled the cards, and doesn’t care about the camera. And she realizes the pictures are probably gone, too.
