Here are the events for November at the Hesston Wellness Center: Nov. 4: Continuing Tai Chi class will meet at 10:45 a.m. Wednesdays and is ongoing. This class is available for those who have completed the instructor-led class. Nov. 3, 10, 17, 24: $2 Tuesdays. Nov. 3 and 17: Oil Painting Club meets from 1:30 to 4 p.m. in the Creative Arts Studio. If you enjoy oil painting, this is the club for you. Call (620) 327-2332 for more information. Nov. 7: Red Cross Babysitter Training will take place from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Garden Level Room. Learn everything you need to know about being a safe and responsible babysitter. Class is open to ages 11 through 15. Bring a sack lunch and a drink. Cost to participate is $50. Sign up at the front desk by Friday. Nov. 9, 25, 27 and 28: Extra family swims will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. during the week and from 11 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Saturdays. Nov. 12: Ceramics Open House will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. in the Ceramics Studio. There will be artwork for sale. The exhibit will include several types of ceramic ware, such as Raku, stoneware and Saggar-ware. There will be three door prizes given away. Prizes will be displayed at the open house and winners announced on Nov. 14. Nov. 19: Heart, Stroke Risk and Prevention Lunch and free lecture will take place from noon to 12:30 p.m. at the Hesston Wellness Center. Heart attack, stroke and other forms of heart disease are a threat to so many people. Learn how to take steps to protect your heart and lower your risk. Presentation will be given by Marcy Brubacher, P.A., from Mid-Kansas Family Practice. Call (620) 327-2323 to register for this lecture. Nov. 21: Oil Painting Workshop. This class is perfect for beginning and experience painters. Cost is $20 to participate and includes all materials. This months subject will be apple blossoms and a butterfly. Class meets from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Creative Arts Studio. Pre-register at the front desk at least one week in advance. Nov. 22 through 28: No aerobics classes. This is an opportunity to try something new for a week. Sign up for an orientation to the fitness room this week if youd like a refresher. Nov. 24: Open until midnight. Nov. 26: Holiday hours. HWC will be closed for Thanksgiving. They will be open normal hours the rest of the week. All events require pre-registration unless otherwise noted.
