Kansas State Sen. Jean Kurtis Schodorf, R-Wichita, will conduct a Listening Tour of the 4th Congressional District and will visit every city in the district to learn how citizens of the 4th are coping with the downturn in the economy.

She also announced she’s considering running for the 4th District Congressional seat and is forming an exploratory campaign committee.

Schodorf is a three-term state senator from the 25th District. She is chairwoman of the Senate Education Committee and is the longest standing member on the Ways and Means Committee. She also serves on the Judiciary and Commerce Committees.

Schodorf and her brother, journalist Bill Kurtis, own and operate the family farm, and the site of the children’s book, “Little House on the Prairie,” near Independence.
