Hospital Corpsman Petty Officer 2nd Class Lisa Scott recently returned from a deployment to Iraq.

She is the daughter of Leon and Susan Scott of Newton and granddaughter of Robert and Carroll Smalley of Newton.

Her responsibilities in Iraq were to coordinate air transportation for sick and injured U.S. military members. She coordinated more than 750 flights using fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters.

Marine Wing Support Squadron-3 (the unit Scott deployed with) awarded her a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medical for her efforts while deployed.

Scott will work as the clinic supervisor in the Internal Medicine Department of the Navel Hospital in Bremerton, Wash., until November.
