Brennan Herrera, Michael Thompson and Joe Muich each had RBI singles for Wichita. The Wingnuts also scored two runs on an error.
Brent Krause hit an inside the park home run for the Saints, 6-5. Scott Knazek added an RBI. Steve Butler went three for four hitting with two runs scored.
Nick Blasi went two for three hitting for Wichita.
Richard Salazar went five innings for Wichita, allowing a run on five hits with a walk and four strikeouts. Salazar improves to 2-0. Amad Stephens pitched the ninth for the save, his fourth of the season.
Adam Cox took the loss for St. Paul, falling to 0-2. Cox allowed one earned run on four hits with two walks and eight strikeouts.
Wichita improves to 9-2. The series continues at 7:05 p.m. today.
