Members of the Halstead High School softball team celebrates its first regional title last week. The 22-1 Dragons head for the Class 3A state softball tournament st the Twin Oaks Sports Complex in Manhattan. Halstead plays 14-7 Frontenac at 5 p.m. Friday in the quarterfinals. The winner advances to face the Medicine Lodge (21-2)-Rock Creek (17-6) winner at 10 a.m. Saturday. Hillsboro (13-10) takes on Thomas More Prep-Marian (23-0) at 5 p.m. Friday with the winner meeting the winner of Osage City (18-3) and Silver Lake (18-4) in the semifinals at 10 a.m. Saturday. The third-place game is noon Saturday. The championship game is 1 p.m. Saturday.
