Newton Medical Center would like the opportunity to express its appreciation to our physicians on Doctor’s Day, which is today.

The first such day was March 30, 1933, and was celebrated by mailing cards to physicians and placing flowers on the graves of deceased physicians.

In 1990, President George H.W. Bush signed a resolution designating March 30 as National Doctor’s Day.

This special day gives patients, friends and supporting staff a chance to say thank you to our physicians for all they do for our community.

Their skills and sacrifices have helped make our lives better and our community a healthier place in which to live. I don’t believe you will find a better group of physicians anywhere, and it’s a privilege to call so many of them friends.

From your family at Newton Medical Center, “Happy Doctor’s Day!”
