Judith Banks and Gary Dix will be installed as worthy matron and worthy patron of Newton chapter No. 5, Order of the Eastern Star during an open ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Masonic Temple, 106 E. Broadway.


Judith Banks and Gary Dix will be installed as worthy matron and worthy patron of Newton chapter No. 5, Order of the Eastern Star during an open ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Masonic Temple, 106 E. Broadway.

Past Grand Matron Patricia Brothers of Lyons will preside as installing matron. She will be assisted by Past Matron Bessie Luttrell, installing marshal: Past Patron L. Ray Young, installing chaplain, and Past Matron May Caywood, installing organist.

Barbara Dickson will preside at the guest book.

Other officers to be installed are: Doris Kammerer, associate matron; Ron Kammerer, associate patron; Carol Lattin; secretary; Loretta Colema, treasurer; Susan Hrovat, conductress; Janet Cagle, associate conductress; Timothy Timmons, chaplain; Michael Cagle, marshal; Mary Alice Davidson, organist; Beverly Greason, Adah; Carolyn Holmes, Ruth; Lois Prater, Esther; Patricia Timmons, Martha; Helen Cagle, Electa; H. Gene Reid, warder, and Jeanette Emert, sentinel.

Traveling worthy matron and worthy patron pins will be presented to Judy Banks and Gary Dix, and jewels will be given by Janet and Michael Cagle, junior past matron and patron. The worthy matron and worthy patron will present Janet and Michael Cagle with their past matron and past patron pins.

A reception will be after the installation, and all attendees are welcome.
