Admission to The Kansas Underground Salt Museum is more affordable than ever. The tour of a museum 650 feet below the Earth’s surface is being offered on a two-for-one basis for tours scheduled through March 1.

“With the economy as it is, and this being our off-season anyway, we felt the people of central Kansas would appreciate this opportunity to save money while having an extraordinary experience,” said Linda Schmitt, museum director.

With this offer, two people can visit the museum for a total of $14.35 including tax. Schmitt emphasized this applies across the board.

“It’s available weekdays and weekends for any scheduled tour,” Schmitt said. “Although our standard rates include special ticket prices for children and seniors, the two-for-one becomes the best deal for just about everyone.”

Tours are regularly offered Tuesdays through Saturdays and Sunday afternoons. Advance reservations are advised as museum access is determined by elevator capacity. Reservations can be made by calling (620) 662-1425 or (866) 755-3450. Mine safety regulations do not allow children younger than 4 to go underground.
