Santa Fe Middle School won the Salina Science Olympiad regional competition at Kansas State University Jan. 14. The team competed in 23 different contests.

Placing first for Santa Fe were Nat Dick, Keagan Attebery and Keil Stauffer in Experimental Design and Alex Trumble and Neil Schmucker in Amphibians and Reptiles.

Second-place finishes included Austin Crumrine and Hugh McConnell in Ecology, Nat Dick and Cory Martens in Road Scholar and Cory Martens and Neil Schmucker in Bio-process Lab. Colton Funk and Keagan Attebery placed third in Elevated Bridge and Disease Detectives. Other team members included Katelyn Dorrell, Gabe Libel, Danica Williams, Julie Vo, Clinton Unruh, Madison Akers and Titus Minkevitch. The team is coached by John Pescitelli and Dennis Flickner. The Science Olympiad team will compete at state competition on April 4 at Wichita State University.
