Central Kansas Community Foundation is accepting applications for grants from the Greater Newton Kids FUNd.In 2009, $8,710 will be awarded through this program. The Greater Newton Kids FUNd was established in 2005 and aims to support projects and organizations that directly benefit the children of the greater Newton area.To date, the program has awarded almost $41,000 in grants to local organizations that provide services to children. To qualify for funding, organizations must qualify as a 501 (c) (3) entity under the Internal Revenue Service Code, and must return a completed application no later than 5 p.m March 2.So that more programs that benefit children can be served, funding requests should be limited to $1,000. Applications may be obtained by visiting the Central Kansas Community Foundation Web site, www.ckcf.net. A paper copy of the application can be requested by calling the Foundation at 283-5474 or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
