Ashley Sweat scored 30 points to help No. 22 Kansas State match the best start in school history with a 74-58 win over Washington State on Sunday.

Marlies Gipson added 16 points and a season-best 13 rebounds for the Wildcats (11-0), who equaled the mark set by the 1968-69 team.

It was the seventh straight road win for the Wildcats.

Sweat was 14-for-19 from the field and her 30 points were the most by a Kansas State player since her career-high 31 in the WNIT championship against Wyoming on March 28, 2007.

Kansas State led by as many as 12 in the first half at 29-17, but Washington State wouldn’t back down as the Cougars closed the half on a 13-4 run.

Leading only 53-51, Kansas State used an 8-0 run to put the game away.

Freshman guard Jazmine Perkins led the Cougars (7-4) with 18 points.
