Joyce Ann (Akers) Miller, 70, passed away Sunday (Nov. 23, 2008) at her home in Newton.


 


Friends are welcome to sign the book from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton. The family will be present from 5 to 6 p.m.


 


Memorial services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.


 


Joyce Ann (Akers) Miller, 70, passed away Sunday (Nov. 23, 2008) at her home in Newton.

 

She was born Aug. 1, 1938, in Newton, the daughter of Henry James and Eva Ellen (Reed) Akers.

 

Joyce is survived by her son, Lance Richard Miller and his wife, Heather, of Duncan, Okla.; her daughter, Shelley Ann Miller of Wichita; brother Marvin Akers of Tulsa, Okla.; sisters, Audrey Higgins of Newton and Arliss Kater of Emporia; grandchildren, Brenton Miller, Cassandra Miller, Preston Miller, Rebecca Kiser, Megan Browning and Braeden Miller; and a great-grandchild, Kaitlynn Marie Miller.

 

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Louise Anduss, Lois Buller, Jeanne Sills and Dorothy Grochowsky; and brothers, Lawrence Akers, Wayne Akers and Howard Akers.

Inurnment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
