Memorial services for Don Lehman, 62, of Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. today at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence. Visitation will be prior to the services at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

He died Friday (Nov. 21, 2008) at his home in Lawrence. He was born Jan. 14, 1946, in Salina, the son of Maurice and Ila Holiday Lehman.

He lived his life on a farm near Gypsum, graduating from Gypsum High School in 1964 and Fort Hays State University in 1968 with a bachelorís degree in special education. He spent six years teaching special education in Belvidere, Ill., and the remainder of his educational career with the East Central Kansas Cooperative in Education in Baldwin.

For the past 20 years, he worked as a registered representative with OFG Financial Services in Topeka, the final six of which were partnered with Leasa Huffman, financial planner.

He married Gretchen McMaster on July 25, 1971, in Hiawatha. Lawrence had been their home for the past 30 years. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Wierwille of Newton and Shannon Andrews of Lawrence; two grandchildren, Dakota Lee Wierwille and Taylor Olivia Andrews; a brother, Lawrence Lehman of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a sister, Lucile Alldaffer of Wichita.

A sister, Leanna Swenson of Salina, is deceased.

The family suggests memorials to Caregivers Home Health Care and Heart of America Hospice, both of Lawrence, and may be sent to Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
