This October, the Newton Lions Club celebrates 87 years in Newton helping people.

Tuesday will mark the 61st year the Newton Lions Club has held its annual Pancake Day.

What started 61 years ago has become a tradition for the Lions Club and the city of Newton.

You will not only get a great meal of pancakes and plenty of fellowship, but realize the money raised from this project will be used to help in the community where needed.

Some of the programs in our community the Lions have helped from pancake feed proceeds include: Meals on Wheels, Harvest of Love, Salvation Army, Hospice, RespiteCare, Newton Community Children’s Choir, Harvey County Domestic Violence, The Kansas Sight Foundation and others.

Many Lions Club members are selling tickets for the pancake feed, but you also can purchase your tickets at the door.

Mark your calendar for Tuesday. Get out and vote, and then join us at the Newton Activity Center from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. for a great feast.

Thanks in advance for all your support.
