When attending an event like the Halstead Chamber Arts and Crafts Fair on Oct. 18, one forgets about the work and effort that goes into such an undertaking.

Contacting the artisans, quilters and food handlers is only the beginning in making this an event of which the city can be proud.

With the addition of the quilt show and, this year, the presence of a Native American artist, the show was especially great to attend.

If you weren’t able to visit with Arthur Short Bull, you missed an excellent opportunity to visit and see work by a Lakota water-colorist.

Thanks to the committee for this day. Good food, interesting crafts and a visit with neighbors made the day one to remember.
