The Kansas Christian Home Auxiliary Holiday Bazaar will be from 8 am. to 4 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, First and Main streets in Newton.


The Kansas Christian Home Auxiliary Holiday Bazaar will be from 8 am. to 4 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, First and Main streets in Newton.

Proceeds from the sale go to Kansas Christian Home Auxiliary to buy items for Kansas Christian Home. During the years, the auxiliary has purchased about $150,000 worth of items for KCH, including beds, wheelchairs and furniture for the lobby.

For sale during the bazaar will be a variety of things, including Christmas items, gifts, antiques/collectibles, decorative plates, jewelry, toys, baby items, kitchen items and linens, pillows, quilts, afghans and baked good including peppernuts.

A bed-size, hand-quilted quilt will be given away during a donation drawing. Suggested donation for the tickets is $1 each or six for $5.

As part of the bazaar, breakfast and lunch will be served. Breakfast will be from 8 to 10:30 a.m. with biscuits and sausage gravy, cinnamon rolls, jumbo muffins and biscuits for sale. Lunch is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. On the menu are ham and beans, hot dogs, hot dogs with chili and cheese, bowl of chili, sloppy joes, Frito chili pie, sandwiches, chips, cookies and pie. Drinks also will be for sale, including coffee, hot chocolate, milk, iced tea and pop.
