The city commission approved a resolution declaring the city’s intent to issue bonds for a new cardiac catherization laboratory in Newton at its Tuesday night meeting.
The project is being conducted by Newton Cardiac Services, a new cooperative effort between Newton Medical Center, Via Christi Health System Inc. and several cardiologists.The lab will be on land adjacent to NMC that is owned by Newton Medical Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of NMC. The request for industrial revenue bonds is expected to be between $1.1 million and $1.3 million dollars and will be used to purchase equipment for the facility.For the complete story, see the print edition of the Kansan.
