Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Marys Catholic Church in Newton, followed by funeral service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jim Mainzer of the church officiating.

Burial will be at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Newton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Stop Violence Coalition of the Kansas Department of Corrections in Hutchinson in care of the funeral home.


Albert Dale McClelland

Albert Dale McClelland, 67, died Thursday (Sept. 25, 2008) at Newton Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 15, 1941, in rural Newton to J.D. and Callista Joan (Clelland) McClelland. They preceded him in death.

Albert loved to fish and go to auctions and garage sales. He was a great dancer, pool player, skater and practical joker.

He loved being with his family and enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews. He especially enjoyed holidays with the family.

Survivors include brother, Donald and Barbara McClelland of Newton; son, Roy Charles Woolstrum; daughters, Doreen and David Hasenbeck, and Anita and Mike Register; sisters, Sandra Kay and Fred Gates of Manchester, Tenn., Sally J. Montgomery of Newton, Donna and Don J. Eikenbary of San Angelo, Texas, and Callista and Terry (Kit) Moor of Newton; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He also was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Donna Jo Tinkler.
