The Sedgwick High School girls’ cross country team took third while the boys took fifth Thursday at the Oxford Invitational at the Winfield Veterans Home.


The Sedgwick High School girls’ cross country team took third while the boys took fifth Thursday at the Oxford Invitational at the Winfield Veterans Home.

The Cardinals claimed six varsity medals, three for the girls and three for the boys.

Casie Greenlee took third for the girls in 16:58, followed by Dusti Greenlee in 11th in 18:13 and Erica Skiles in 23rd in 19:48.

For the boys, Kyle Hendrixson took 11th in 19:30, followed by Lawson Kingsley in 14th in 19:47 and Patrick Wensing in 18th in 20:13.

“This was the warmest day we have had all season for a meet,” Sedgwick coach Ed Kingsley said. “Most of the kids handled it pretty good. This is one of the toughest courses we run on. I was proud of the way all the kids performed.”

Sedgwick competes Thursday at the Halstead Invitational at the Wedgewood Golf Course.
