Erin Schmidt and Brian Stucky, both of North Newton, were married Sept. 22, 2007, in an outdoor wedding at the home of the groom’s parents in rural Moundridge.


Erin Schmidt and Brian Stucky, both of North Newton, were married Sept. 22, 2007, in an outdoor wedding at the home of the groom’s parents in rural Moundridge.

The bride’s parents are Darrel and Carmen Schmidt of Newton. Her grandparents are Hilda and the late Peter Schmidt of North Newton, and Bertha and the late Clarence Goentzel of Hillsboro.

The groom’s parents are Bruce and Pat Stucky of Moundridge. His grandparents are Kathryn and the late Kenneth Stucky of Newton, and Ed and Doris Stucky of Moundridge.

Gordon Smith, pastor at Faith Mennonite Church in Newton, performed the double-ring ceremony. Nathan Koontz, associate pastor at Faith, offered a prayer.

The wedding party included Mark Schmidt, brother of the bride of Newton; Kristine Thimm, friend of the couple of Washington, D.C.; David Stucky, brother of the groom of Moundridge; and Reid Kaufmann, friend of the couple of Bel Aire.

Friends of the couple Reid and Grayce Kaufmann performed pre-service music on guitar and flute. The groom played a hymn arrangement on guitar to close the service.

A barbecue reception given by the bride’s parents followed the ceremony. The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Montana Mike’s the previous evening.
