A bridge on Ridge Road at the intersection of U.S. Highway 50 is progressing on time, despite wet conditions this spring, said Don King of King Construction.

“It seems like we are awakened by thunder every night,” King said. “When mother nature lets us work, it is go going well.”

The Hesston company was allotted 120 working days to complete the project. King said crews have already poured concrete piers at the site, and work continues on a daily basis.

He also said drivers can expect to see more equipment at the site this week.

“We are moving in additional equipment to increase our forces there,” King said. “We are comfortable with the pace we have and don’t anticipate any real completion problems.”

The bridge project is funded by Harvey County.
