Christine Hoffman, 81, homemaker, died Friday (June 27, 2008) at Newton Medical Center.


Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead, with the Rev. Jennifer Whitt officiating.


Christine Hoffman, 81, homemaker, died Friday (June 27, 2008) at Newton Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 6, 1926, in Honeywell, Okla., to Merle and Ruby (Calloway) Scott. Both are deceased.

On May 26, 1951, she married William L. “Red” Hoffman in Halstead. He died Nov. 4, 1995.

She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Burrton and Moose Lodge 982 in Hutchinson.

She was loved and will be remembered by many.

Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Brandenberger and husband, Steve, of Halstead; granddaughter, Lisa Swanner of Hesston; and great-granddaughter, Courtney Swanner and twin great-grandsons, Alec and Darien Chapin, all of Hesston.

She was preceded by a sister, Darlene Hoffman.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead, with the Rev. Jennifer Whitt officiating. There will be no calling hours.

Burial will be at Halstead Cemetery in Halstead.

Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association in care of Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead, which is in charge of arrangements.
