The Salvation Army is issuing an appeal for help as it fights battles on many fronts.

As the Salvation Army continues to assist many thousands of victims of disaster across Kansas, Missouri and neighboring states, the organization also is waging a continuous battle against hunger, homelessness and poverty, a new release said.

“As disasters rage all around us, people still come to us daily needing a warm bed to sleep in, money to pay a utility bill, or just a hot meal,” said Lt. Colonel Ted Dalberg, divisional commander of the Salvation Army for Kansas and Western Missouri. “Every year in the two state area we cover, we serve more than 845,000 meals and help more than 400,000 people with emergency assistance. Those needs are not going away.”

The Salvation Army is appealing for financial donations to continue its battles, both on the disaster and home fronts. Monetary donations may be mailed to 3637 Broadway, Kansas City, MO 64111. For credit card donations, call 1-800-SAL-ARMY or log onto armykettle.com.
