A few months ago, a detachment of Newton’s National Guard started its tour of duty in Iraq. Now is the time we, fellow citizens of Newton, can make their lives a little more fun by sending them cards, letters, goodies, thoughts and prayers.

Our citizen/soliders are split into three units, and I am listing the address of three soldiers who will act as the receiving point for mail for all three units. All three units are composed of 30-plus soldiers.

Please take a few minutes of your time and join the team in sending them greetings from Newton. I thank you in advance for your help!

Another name of a soldier I just received is on a tour of duty in Iraq, and his father is our own David Yoder, county attorney. Please include him in your cards, letters, goodies, thoughts and prayers.
