Four members of the Kansas Cougars football team based in Newton were named to the Central Football League Northern Division All-Star Team for the CFL All-Star Game at 6 p.m. Saturday at the East Tulsa Sports Complex in Tulsa, Okla.

Players named were receiver Eddie Hartfield, offensive lineman Manu Preston, defensive lineman Jeff Van Horn and linebacker Pascual Gallegos.

Defensive back DePaul Murdock was named an honorable mention.

Position competitions will be 10 a.m. to noon.

The Cougars finished their second season of CFL play 4-4 in the regular season, falling in the first round of the CFL playoffs to the Oklahoma Knights 7-6.

The Joplin Crusaders won the league championship over the Oklahoma Outlawz 18-6.
