Question: It’s open forum week. What’s on your mind?

    • I would like to thank all of the individuals responsible for putting up all the flags at Greenwood Cemetery on Memorial Day. It looked absolutely amazing, and I hope you continue to do it every year. I know it must take a lot of time and effort, but please know it is greatly appreciated.

    • Hurray for Susan Brock. We have been told what to teach to pass state reading assessments but given very few materials for students to do it. Rather than turning to page 15 of a good, solid reading textbook or workbook, we were told we could find great activities on the Internet.

    • I’d like to thank the promoters of the downtown car show and concert for bringing such great entertainment to Newton. I was one of the few Newton people at the concert. It was near capacity from out-of-town people, and witness one of the greatest shows I’ve ever seen in Newton by far. Come on, Newton, let’s get behind these promoters and help them bring in this great entertainment. If we don’t support it, we’re going to lose it, and I, for one, enjoy the great shows at the Fox and the downtown car show.

    • Now that it’s festival season, I’m just curious why you never read or hear about anybody complaining about the $20 and $30 button prices at Marion for their festival and concert. Maybe the Chisholm Trail Festival needs to take a look into that and learn how to promote one. I’m sure we’ve got a couple in town that would be grateful to help if only asked.

    • To the people who are using the trees as a restroom, the bathrooms in the parks are open now.
