Two teams from Newton recently competed in the Special Olympics Kansas Stare Soccer Tournament in Olathe. Team Blue took the gold medal in the Masters E division, while team white took home silver in the Senior B division.  Teams were coached by DJ Bookout and Joey Schmidt.

Relay for life   The Harvey County Relay for Life is back with a new location and new time of year.   The event was moved to fall, and will be from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 24 in downtown Newton.
