Jack and Lois (Murray) Pomeroy are celebrating a “golden-plus” wedding anniversary during a come-and-go reception from 2 to 5 p.m. March 14 at their home, 1000 Highland Ave. in Newton.
Jack and Lois were united in marriage April 11, 1957, in White Plains, Ala. Making their home in Norwich, they raised two children on the family farm. Jack worked 42 years at Farrar Corp., the majority of time as welding foreman. Lois was employed 25 years in nursing care at the Harper County Hospital in addition to 10 years at Wichita Clinic. They retired from farming prior to their move to Newton in 2007.
Their son, Jerry, and his wife, Dixie, of Hesston and their daughter, Brena Ballard of Village of Loch Lloyd, Mo., are hosting the reception.
Grandchildren are Lts. Jason and Abby Pomeroy of Fort Campbell, Ky., and Michelle, Abbey and Emily of Hesston.
