Blacks to celebrate 50 years of marriage

Gary and Pat Black of Newton will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Newton Activity Center.

Gary Black and Patricia Adams were married on Aug. 22, 1959, at First Baptist Church in Dodge City.

Gary retired as an engineer from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway after 38 years. Pat retired from Bethel College in 2001 and from Newton Medical Center in 2008.

Hosting the event will be their children and grandchildren: Jim and Shelly Black and daughter Christen of Newton, Brian Black and son Tyler Black, and Debbie Williams of Wichita.

The couple requests no gifts.
