John and Irene Younkman of Newton will observe their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 11.
John Younkman and Irene Ratzlaff were married Sept. 11, 1949, at Zion Lutheran Church. Since that time, they have resided in Newton.John worked as a postmaster and for Santa Fe Railroad as an engine man.They have two sons, John D. and his wife, Susan, of Pratt; and Karl of Wellington.They have three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
