Kenneth “Frenchy” and Neva Frey of Newton will observe their 40th wedding anniversary Sunday.
Kenneth Frey and Neva June Stutzman were married July 6, 1968, at Wellman Mennonite Church in Wellman, Iowa, with the Rev. Ron Kennel officiating.They resided in Wellman from 1968 through 1998 and have lived in Newton since 1998.Immediately prior to moving to Newton, Frenchy worked at Twin County Dairy in Kalona, Iowa, from 1977 through 1998. In 1998, Frenchy began working at King Construction in Hesston.From 1992 through 1998, Neva worked in the gift shop at Twin County Dairy. She also co-owned “The Secret Garden” tea room in Kalona. Upon moving to Newton in 1998, Neva opened the Harrison House Bed and Breakfast. She also worked at Cross Wind Conference Center. Neva retired in 2005 and now is an “on-call” grandma.Their children and their spouses are: Chad Frey of Newton and fiance Mary Prodoehl of Wisconsin; Kenna and Kelson Graber of Peabody; and Penny and Gustavo Dorado of Newton.The couple has three grandchildren.
